Cable Agronomy System

This project was designed to accommodate the Sugarcane Farmers of Queensland. The design was developed using information gathered and analysed by industry professionals. The key findings made it obvious that access to crop health analysis throughout the entire growing period would extremely beneficial. This system is an analysis device that is fitted to a Spidercam system that will allow farmers to remotely view and analysis their sugarcane crops and soil quality.

Throughout the model making process it was important to explore as many manufacture methods as possible. The outer shell of the prototype was Laser Cut out of 3mm aluminium sheet, folded and finally powder coated. This would provide the protection that the internal computer console required and helped to make the 1:2 scale model look and feel as authentic as possible.

This was the result of the final model. It had a mix of materials from folded aluminium, perforated steel, sheet, plastic perspex and 3D printed forms to come together and create a half scale of the final product. This model was made to be as aesthetically authentic as possible.

CAS Physical Model

This was the result of the final model. It had a mix of materials from folded aluminium, perforated steel sheet, plastic perspex and 3D printed forms to come together and create a half scale version of the final product. This model was made to be as aesthetically authentic as possible through the use of material selection and finishing techniques. The matte paint on the console part of the model was chosen specifically to show that this model would have to robust over a long period of time and work in harsh conditions without showing wear or damage. All of the elements came together to display the research and development of this project over the semester.
